Binary 540 Series 4K Ultra HD HDBaseT Long-Range Extender with IR, RS-232 & Ethernet (In-Wall RX)

Now with 4K Ultra HD! This 540 series HDBaseT™ extender transmits video up to 4K@ 60Hz, 7.1 channels of lossless audio, and more over a single Cat 5e/6 cable. It’s compatible with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2, plus, support for 100Mb Ethernet makes streaming Netflix or Pandora on any smart TVs easier than ever. It’s also configured for robust control system integration, featuring Ethernet, IP, Power over Cable, bi-directional IR and RS-232. Note: The receiver is an in-wall version and fits in dual gang wall plate. The extender supports 4K @ 30Hz (4:4:4) and 4K @ 60Hz (4:2:0).

HDBaseT No Video – HDBaseT requires that connected equipment support what is known as Clock Stretching. While this feature was a requirement starting with HDMI 1.3, not all HDMI 1.3 products support it, and it was not required for HDMI 1.2, which is still used in many set top boxes and AVRs. No video may appear if the devices connected to HDBaseT extenders do not support Clock Stretching.Fortunately, there is a simple workaround that allows HDBaseT to work with these products. If you don’t require 4K, we recommend using an extender like the B-520-EXT-330-RS-IPW.

Power Supply Voltage – Binary HDBaseT HDMI extenders use a 12 Volt DC power supply. Using a different voltage power supply with Binary products will result in damage to the product and possibly the power supply. Be sure to use the correct power supply with the correct product!
Shielded Cable Recommendation – Although HDBaseT transmission technology is much less susceptible to EMI interference than other transmission technologies, if possible, it is recommended that you pull shielded Cat5e/Cat6 with this product for maximum reliability. Please note: for proper shielding, shielded connectors must be used with drains connected at both ends. In addition, “EZ end” connectors are not recommended for use with HDMI extenders.
Clock Stretching Solutions – We offer simple workarounds for compatibility between newer HDBaseT products and older sources. Clock stretching solutions for full HD 1080p sources still include the B-520-EXT-330-RS-IP or B-520-EXT-230-RS HDBaseT extenders. Alternatively, if you use the B-540-TX-330-IR and connect it to the source via the B-230-HDSPLTR-1×2 (1080p splitter), this will also solve any clock stretching issues.

4K Ultra HD + Full HD Support

This extender supports 4K @ 30Hz (including HDMI® with 3D), Deep Color (36bit) and HDCP 2.0, as well as Dolby® True HD, Dolby® Digital Plus, DTS™-HD Master and LPCM audio formats. It’s also compatible with HDMI 2.0/ HDCP 2.2 products. This extender also supports 4K@30 Hz (4:4:4) and 4K@60 Hz (4:2:0) resolutions. Note: 4K support varies by distance and cable type. Refer to the spec tab for individual SKU details.

Plenty Of Power Options

Since this extender pair features Power over Cable (PoC), you’ve got the ability to power the extender from either side – or even power it remotely if there’s no outlet near your receiver. Everything you need is in the box! Grab the included removable screw terminal and the female power supply adapter, add a 16- or 18-gauge 2-conductor wire, and you’re ready to go. Once you’re done, the power supply can easily go in a rack or another out-of-the-way place.

Complete Control with Bi-directional IR, RS-232 and IP

Thanks to bi-directional IR, RS-232, and Ethernet capabilities, you get no-hassle integration with a variety of control systems. Using this extender, you can easily send IR signals from the TV location back to cable boxes, DVD players, and other source equipment at the head end. The IR connections feature active circuitry that supports a wide variety of IR and control system types.

IR Flexibility

The dip switch gives you better install flexibility by providing power when connected to an IR receiver or by shutting off when connected to control systems.

A Perfect Fit

Having more options is never a bad thing. That’s why this wall plate receiver is specifically designed to fit any dual-gang J-box. It comes with a basic white decora plate, but you can swap it out for whatever color matches the install.

Need More Powering Versatility?

To simplify the install even further, you can use a single power supply for both the transmitter and receiver. Just purchase our WPS-ACC-PWR-F and WPS-ACC-PWR-1X2.

Easy Firmware Upgrades

You never know when a new TV or BluRay player is going to throw you a curve ball. Upgradable firmware gives our software team the ability to update the system to handle any “gotchas.” Just flip the switch on the RS-232 port and upgrade on-site.
